Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced, time-served Fire Stopper to join a major commercial development in Sunderland. We are partnering with a top-tier specialist fire protection contractor requiring a skilled operative capable of delivering compliant, high-spec passive fire protection solutions on a fast-paced project.

The Role

• Passive Fire Protection Scope: Installing batt and mastic systems, fire collars, wraps, compounding, and structural steel fire protection across commercial units.

• Service Penetrations: Sealing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing penetrations through fire-rated walls, floors, and compartments to specification.

• Technical Compliance: Working strictly to product datasheets, manufacturer guidelines, and site drawings to ensure all installations meet strict fire safety regulations.

• Quality & QA: Ensuring clean, fully compliant finishes ready for third-party accreditation inspections and site sign-off.

• Site Safety: Maintaining high safety standards when working at height and navigating commercial construction environments.

Requirements

• CSCS Card: A valid CSCS Card (Fire Stopper / Skilled Worker) is mandatory.

• IPAF Ticket: A valid IPAF license (3a/3b) is mandatory for working at height via MEWPs.

• Confined Spaces: A Confined Spaces certificate is highly preferred/desirable, though not strictly essential.

• Experience: Proven track record in commercial passive fire stopping and penetration sealing.

• Tools & Kit: Full professional tool kit (guns, knives, caulking tools) and standard 5-point PPE.

• Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
