Castle Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support a range of secondary schools across Scarborough from September.
Whether you are looking to gain experience in different schools, return to education, or secure a permanent position, supply work is a great way to get your foot in the door. We have flexible day to day opportunities available from September, with many leading to long term and permanent roles.
📚 About the role
You will be supporting secondary school students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and reach their full potential.
You may be working with:
🎓 Students requiring additional academic support
🧠 Pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
🤝 Small intervention groups
📖 Whole class support alongside the classroom teacher
For HLTA roles, you may also be asked to deliver pre planned lessons and cover classes when required.
🧩 Key responsibilities
• Supporting students on a one to one basis and in small groups
• Assisting teachers to deliver engaging lessons
• Building positive relationships with students to encourage confidence and participation
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
• Helping to maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
• Delivering planned learning activities and lesson cover for HLTA roles
