Flood Risk Consultant

Location: Bristol
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefits
Type: Permanent

A growing environmental consultancy is looking for a Flood Risk Consultant to join their Bristol team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in flood risk and drainage to work across a range of development and infrastructure projects.

You will be involved in delivering flood risk and drainage projects from initial assessment through to technical reporting and client delivery. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
• Undertaking flood risk and catchment assessments
• Surface water management and SuDS design
• Supporting hydraulic modelling and flood mapping
• Reviewing development proposals and identifying flood constraints
• Preparing technical reports for planning applications
• Liaising with clients, local authorities and other consultants
• Supporting projects from feasibility through to detailed design

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Hydrology, Environmental Science or a related subject
• Previous experience in flood risk, drainage or water consultancy
• Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and/or drainage strategies
• Knowledge of UK flood risk legislation, policy and guidance
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or HEC-RAS would be beneficial
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence desirable
