36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday

7am -3pm shift (this can be slightly flexible)

We're currently recruiting for a Food Service Assistant to join a busy and welcoming catering team in St Andrews. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as part of a team, and takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Food Service Assistant, you'll be involved in a variety of front-of-house and food service duties, including:

  • Assisting with basic food preparation, including preparing ingredients and supporting food service operations
  • Preparing counters, displays and service areas before meal service
  • Serving food and beverages in a professional and friendly manner
  • Maintaining attractive and well-stocked food displays
  • Clearing and cleaning tables, dining areas and service points
  • Carrying out dishwashing and general cleaning duties
  • Providing excellent customer service to customers and visitors
  • Responding helpfully and efficiently to customer queries and requests
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • Previous catering, hospitality or food service experience
  • An Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH procedures
  • Experience serving food in a fast-paced environment
