Ganger/ Ground Worker

Jaberu Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Ganger/ Ground Worker with Supervisory Experience to join our client on a permanent, full-time PAYE basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Ground Worker who is ready to take on additional responsibility and play a key role in supervising groundwork activities on site.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out a range of groundworks while also supporting the management and supervision of site teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out general groundworks and site preparation
• Excavation and trenching
• Drainage and pipe installation
• Kerbing, paving and concreting
• Supervising and coordinating Ground Workers and site operatives
• Allocating tasks and monitoring team performance
• Ensuring work is completed to the required specification and programme
• Liaising with site management and other trades
• Working safely around plant and machinery
• Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed at all times
• Identifying and reporting any issues on site
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Supporting the site management team as required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Ground Worker
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience – essential
• Full UK driving licence – essential
• CSCS card
• Good understanding of groundworks, construction methods and site procedures
• Strong understanding of health & safety
• Ability to read and work from site plans and drawings
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to organise and motivate a team
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Right to work in the UK
• Own PPE (desirable)
