Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer
Location: Haringey, North London
Salary: £45,000 Basic rising to up to £50,000 following a successful probationary period for the right candidate, plus Call-Out & Overtime
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer to join a well-established heating and maintenance contractor delivering services on the Haringey Council housing contract.
This is a permanent opportunity starting on 3rd August 2026, offering long-term job security, excellent earning potential through overtime and call-out, and the chance to work for a respected contractor with a strong reputation in the social housing sector.
The Role
As a Domestic Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of gas-related works within occupied residential properties, including:

Servicing domestic gas boilers and heating systems.

Diagnosing faults and carrying out breakdown repairs.

Completing landlord gas safety inspections (LGSRs).

Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with current Gas Safe regulations.

Delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Completing all required paperwork and job reports accurately.
Hours & On-Call

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm (42.5 hours per week).

On-Call Rota: 1 in 4.

Additional earnings available through call-out and overtime.

What We're Looking For

Valid Domestic ACS qualifications (essential).

Previous experience servicing and repairing domestic gas appliances.

Experience within social housing or domestic maintenance is advantageous but not essential.

Full UK driving licence.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
