General Foreman

Corepeople Recruitment Limited is currently seeking an experienced General Foreman for a permanent position with a leading UK infrastructure and civil-engineering contractor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site professional to take a key role in the successful delivery of major civil-engineering and infrastructure projects.

The company is a well-established civil-engineering contractor with a strong track record across the UK. Its expertise covers renewable-energy infrastructure, highways, bridges, marine works, flood defence, site development and associated civil-engineering projects.

With extensive experience delivering complex projects in challenging and remote locations, the business has developed a strong reputation within the infrastructure sector and forms part of a larger infrastructure-services group.

As General Foreman, responsibility will centre around the day-to-day supervision and coordination of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, quality and specification requirements.

The role will involve coordinating site teams and subcontractors, allocating labour and resources, monitoring progress, maintaining high standards of health and safety and working closely with the Site Agent and wider project team to ensure the successful delivery of the works.

• Previous experience working as a General Foreman or Foreman within civil engineering or infrastructure
• Proven experience supervising site teams and subcontractors
• Strong understanding of civil-engineering construction methods and site operations
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or civil-engineering projects
• Good knowledge of health and safety and quality requirements
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
• Relevant site qualifications, including SSSTS/SMSTS
