Job Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out general maintenance tasks across the site, supporting tradespeople and ensuring timely completion of work.
- Provide professional assistance to staff and contractors, including escorting duties when required.
- Perform DIY tasks such as decorating, hanging notice boards, building furniture, and repairing items around the premises.
- Inspect appliances, fittings, and the overall environment to ensure they are in good working order, reporting any defects to the Team Leader.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards, including litter picking and landscaping around the grounds as needed.
- Support facilities management duties as directed by the team manager.
- Contribute to local and organisational zero carbon initiatives, working strategically to reduce carbon footprint where appropriate.
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to across all activities and within the wider contract.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in DIY and general building maintenance.
- Relevant CITB certification or equivalent qualification.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
Additional Information
This role involves working 39 hours per week across a 7-day rota, including working 1 in 4 weekends with an additional 15% weekend allowance. The position is on-site at our client's facility in Retford, UK, offering a dynamic environment where your skills will directly contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the community.
