This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Generator Maintenance Engineer to join a thriving generator and gas engine CHP business operating within an industry with significant long-term potential.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, energetic and hands-on engineer who is confident working independently and has solid practical experience in the field.

You will travel throughout the London area, primarily within your assigned geographical area, carrying out routine servicing and maintenance on a range of generators from 10kVA to 2MVA.

The role will involve scheduled servicing, remedial works and reactive breakdown support. You will also act as a first responder to equipment breakdowns on customer sites.

A call-out rota operates as part of the role, requiring availability outside normal working hours when scheduled.

As a Generator Maintenance Engineer, you will:

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Attend reactive breakdowns and carry out fault-finding
• Complete remedial and corrective works
• Work on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA
• Work with generator control systems and associated equipment
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and safety
• Complete service reports and relevant documentation
• Travel throughout the UK, primarily within your allocated area
• Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota

We are looking for a Generator Maintenance Engineer who demonstrates:

• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as a generator service engineer, maintenance engineer or similar
• Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge covering LV power generation and distribution systems
• Practical knowledge of software-based generator control systems such as ComAp and Deep Sea Electronics (DSE)
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Practical experience using laptop-based engine analysis and control software, such as ComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to live and work in the UK

• Gas Safe qualification
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
• IET/IEE 18th Edition qualification
• CSCS card
• Own basic electrical and mechanical toolkit
