Site Engineer – Highways / Civil Engineering

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering highways and civil engineering works across the East Coast of Yorkshire.

This is a permanent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in highways, infrastructure or general civils, looking for a long-term position with an established contractor.

Working closely with the Site Management and Engineering teams, you will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely and in line with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out highways and civil engineering works

• Providing engineering support to the Site Management team

• Carrying out site surveys and level checks

• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications

• Producing accurate site records and reports

• Supporting the planning and sequencing of works

• Liaising with subcontractors and site teams

• Carrying out quality assurance checks

• Monitoring works against design and specification

• Assisting with technical queries and resolving engineering issues

• Maintaining accurate QA and project documentation

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer within highways or civil engineering

• Strong setting-out experience

• Experience working with engineering drawings and specifications

• Good understanding of highways and civil engineering construction

• Ability to work effectively alongside Site Managers and project teams

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Relevant engineering qualification preferred

• CSCS and relevant site qualifications
