The Role
As a freelance Geotechnical Designer / Site Representative, you will act as the on-site geotechnical authority, supporting daily construction activities during earthworks and foundation installation. Your responsibilities will include providing technical advice, reviewing installation records, undertaking site inspections, and assisting with design changes and risk mitigation.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Proven and extensive experience providing site-based geotechnical support on construction projects.
- Strong background in earthworks, piles, shallow foundations, and piled retaining walls.
- Excellent knowledge of UK standards such as Eurocode 7 and BS 5930.
- Chartered status is preferred.
- Confident working independently on site with excellent communication skills.
- Pragmatic, construction-focused mindset with a 'can-do' attitude to problem solving.
