GFM Driver
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a GFM Driver to join a busy manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in forging, engineering, heavy manufacturing, steel, aerospace, or industrial production environments who are looking to develop their career within a safety-focused and quality-driven business.
The Role
Working as part of a multi-skilled GFM team, you will be responsible for the forging and processing of materials to strict technical specifications while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating GFM forging equipment in line with technically controlled programmes.
- Identifying and recording materials to maintain full quality traceability.
- Accurately measuring materials and recording production data.
- Entering information onto the internal compute and technical process computer systems.
- Operating abrasive saws to cut materials to specification.
- Using overhead cranes to move materials safely throughout the facility.
- Supporting additional GFM operations including slinging activities and loading/unloading furnaces.
- Carrying out pre-start equipment checks.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards and participating in 5S improvement activities.
- Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engaging fully with company safety programmes and promoting a positive safety culture.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environment.
- A proactive approach to health, safety and quality.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience using measurement equipment and following technical procedures.
- The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- A willingness to learn new skills and apply training effectively.
- Excellent timekeeping, reliability and personal accountability.
- Pride in maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workmanship.
Desirable
- Experience within forging, steel processing, aerospace or metals manufacturing.
- Overhead crane and slinging experience.
- Experience using production or manufacturing computer systems.
- Involvement in continuous improvement or process development activities.
THE ROLE INCLUDES A BONUS OF UP TO £5,700 on top of the salary
