Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a leading safety-critical manufacturing organisation in the recruitment of an experienced NDT Engineer / NDT Level III.

This is a key technical and leadership position, responsible for acting as the business's NDT Level III and process expert, while leading and developing a team of NDT Technicians. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring inspection processes meet stringent customer, regulatory and industry requirements, whilst also driving continuous improvement and supporting future business growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the business NDT Level III and technical process expert.
  • Ensuring NDT procedures, work instructions, data cards and associated documentation remain current and compliant.
  • Translating customer technical requirements into effective operational procedures and practices.
  • Leading, supervising and developing a team of NDT Technicians.
  • Ensuring robust training, assessment and competency processes are in place across the NDT function.
  • Maintaining competency matrices and ensuring PCN/ASNT certification and re-certification requirements are managed effectively.
  • Auditing NDT activities to ensure compliance with relevant standards and internal procedures.
  • Owning the reference standard process and ensuring appropriate standards are available for customer and market requirements..
  • Ensuring Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures are current for all relevant activities.
  • Managing controlled changes to NDT processes and ensuring changes are appropriately communicated and embedded.
  • Developing improvement plans to improve process resilience, quality, cost and product capability.
  • Supporting Sales and Engineering with the quotation and onboarding of new projects.
About You

Essential:

  • Level 3 PCN in Ultrasonic Testing (Forgings) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).
  • Detailed knowledge of a broad range of NDT inspection techniques.
  • Proven experience of implementing, managing and sustaining controlled change.
  • Previous experience of leading and supervising an NDT team.
  • Strong understanding of NDT standards, procedures, competency and compliance requirements.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 ASNT in UT (Forgings) and MPI.
  • Level 2 certification in additional techniques such as Dye Penetrant Inspection or Visual Inspection.
  • Welding qualifications and/or experience in welding inspection.
  • Cylinder inspection experience.
  • 5+ years' experience within aerospace or defence.
  • Experience working within highly regulated or safety-critical manufacturing environments.
