Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Goods Out Quality Control Operative to join a growing manufacturing business committed to delivering high-quality products to customers across the UK and international markets.

The Goods Out Quality Operative is responsible for ensuring all products leave the facility fully compliant with customer specifications and company quality standards, while meeting dispatch deadlines.

Acting as the final quality checkpoint before shipment, this role is responsible for inspecting finished products and associated components to ensure they are defect-free, correctly labelled, complete, and suitably packaged for transportation.

The position plays a vital role in preventing quality issues, dispatch errors, and customer complaints by ensuring only compliant products are released for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct final quality inspections on finished products before dispatch, ensuring they meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Verify product dimensions, finishes, assembly quality, quantities, item codes, and packaging against works and sales orders.
  • Identify defects, damage, or non-conforming products, raising non-conformance reports (NCRs) where required and preventing unsuitable products from leaving site.
  • Ensure all products are correctly labelled, fully complete, traceable, and packaged safely for transportation.
  • Confirm customer-specific requirements, accessories, fixings, and components are included with every order.
  • Support root cause investigations, monitor quality trends, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring defects.
  • Work closely with production and warehouse teams to maintain high quality standards and support On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
  • Help protect the company's reputation by minimising customer complaints and ensuring a consistently high standard of outgoing products.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous quality inspection experience from a manufacturing or warehouse background.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Understanding of quality control processes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Confidence to challenge and stop non-conforming products from being dispatched.

Desirable

  • Joinery, construction products, or engineered products experience.
  • ISO 9001 awareness.
  • Forklift licence.
