My client is looking for a Graduate Transport Engineer to join their Oxford team. You will be working on highway and junction design schemes, supporting development projects from initial concept through to detailed design while building practical experience with industry-standard software and design guidance.

What you will be doing
As a Graduate Transport Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of highway and transport infrastructure projects.
You will be:
·Assisting with the design of new highways, junctions and access arrangements.
·Producing highway layouts and preliminary engineering designs for development schemes.
·Supporting the design of priority junctions, roundabouts and other highway improvements.
·Preparing technical drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
·Assisting with vehicle tracking and swept-path analysis.
·Reviewing highway geometry, visibility splays and access arrangements.
·Supporting the preparation of designs for planning applications and technical approvals.
·Working with relevant highway design standards, guidance and specifications.
·Assisting with technical calculations, design checks and engineering reports.
·Working alongside transport planners, engineers and other members of multidisciplinary project teams.
·Liaising with clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders as your experience develops.
·Visiting sites where required to understand existing highway conditions and proposed works.
What you will bring
To be considered for this Graduate Transport Engineer position, you will ideally have:
·A degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Highway Engineering or another relevant discipline.
·A strong interest in highway engineering and junction design.
·An understanding of engineering design principles.
·Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·The ability to produce accurate technical work with good attention to detail.
·Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
·An interest in developing your knowledge of AutoCAD and other highway design software.
Experience gained through a placement, internship, university project or previous employment involving highway or junction design would be beneficial but is not essential.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is £26,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience, alongside a competitive benefits package.
