Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a number of welcoming secondary schools across Chelmsford and the surrounding areas, seeking enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisors to join their teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience and pursue a career in teaching. The role offers flexible working, allowing you to choose the days you are available, while providing a strong potential route into teacher training for the right candidate.

Whether you're a recent graduate considering a PGCE, School Direct or another teacher training route, or you're simply looking to gain experience working with young people, this could be an ideal first step into education.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials
• Ensuring students remain engaged, focused and on task
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Creating a positive and productive learning environment
• Providing day-to-day and short-term cover across secondary schools
• Supporting students with their learning and encouraging positive attitudes towards education
• Building positive relationships with students and staff
• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons where required
• Gaining valuable classroom experience ahead of a potential teacher training application

What We're Looking For

• A degree in any subject, or currently completing your final year
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence working with groups of young people
• A positive, professional and adaptable attitude
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to think on your feet
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
• A willingness to learn and develop your classroom skills
