We are looking for a talented Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Vehicle Dynamics to join a highly skilled engineering consultancy solving complex technical challenges across automotive, aerospace, robotics and advanced engineering sectors.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to projects involving vehicle performance, chassis systems, suspension design, simulation, analysis and testing. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical work early, applying engineering fundamentals and analytical thinking to develop practical solutions to real-world problems.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Vehicle Dynamics, you will:
- Support the design, development and validation of vehicle and mechanical systems.
- Apply first-principles engineering approaches to investigate and solve technical challenges.
- Carry out engineering calculations, modelling and analysis to support design decisions.
- Perform vehicle dynamics studies, simulation activities and system-level investigations.
- Support the development of suspension, chassis and associated mechanical systems.
- Produce CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Participate in testing and validation activities, analysing results and identifying improvements.
- Collaborate with colleagues, clients and suppliers to support successful project delivery.
The successful Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Vehicle Dynamics will be curious, analytical and passionate about solving engineering problems.
You will have a strong grounding in engineering fundamentals, mathematics and physics, with the ability to apply theory to practical engineering challenges. You'll enjoy understanding how systems behave, questioning assumptions and developing robust technical solutions.
Requirements- MEng or BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, mathematics and physics.
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks or NX.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Experience with FEA, MBD or simulation tools.
- Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, MSC ADAMS or similar engineering software.
- Exposure to vehicle testing, validation or data analysis activities.
- Basic Python, MATLAB or VBA programming skills.
- Experience gained through industry placements, Formula Student, motorsport or engineering projects.
