Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

A well-established and growing planning consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Planner to join its London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent planning graduate looking to build their career within a supportive consultancy, gain hands-on experience across a varied project portfolio, and work towards their professional development.

The Role

As a Graduate Planner, you will support experienced planners across a range of projects, gaining exposure to the full planning process. You will work alongside clients, local authorities and other consultants while developing your technical and professional planning skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
• Supporting the preparation of planning statements, reports and other documentation.
• Undertaking planning policy and development research.
• Liaising with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
• Supporting senior planners with a variety of planning projects.
• Monitoring planning applications and providing updates to clients.
• Assisting with site appraisals and planning assessments.
• Developing knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation.

Requirements

• A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
• Ideally some relevant planning experience through a placement, internship or graduate role.
• Good understanding of the UK planning system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good research and analytical abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
