Graduate SEN Teaching assistant

We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work within welcoming and supportive specialist schools across Gloucestershire. These schools support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), ADHD, Dyslexia and moderate learning difficulties. No previous school experience is essential - the most important qualities are patience, resilience, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to support young people.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, providing both 1:1 and small group support. You'll help students engage in lessons, build confidence, develop social skills and encourage positive behaviour in a safe and nurturing environment.

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional wellbeing.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Supporting students with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Dyslexia and additional learning needs.
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals to support each student's progress.

• Has a passion for working with children and young people.
• Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Is reliable, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle (preferred due to school locations).

You'll gain invaluable experience within a specialist SEN setting while receiving ongoing support from both the school and Prospero Teaching.
