Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Wandsworth, London
Salary: £515–£550 per week
Contract: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wandsworth is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistants to support pupils across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates in Psychology, English, English Literature, Education, or other relevant subjects who are passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to provide high-quality support to pupils both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play an important role in creating a positive learning environment, helping children build confidence, develop key skills, and reach their full potential.
Main Duties
  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to support pupils' learning and progress.
  • Assist children with varying learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), where required.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support children during lessons, break times, educational activities, and school events.
About You
  • A degree in Psychology, English, English Literature, Education, or another relevant subject.
  • A genuine passion for working with primary-aged children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable with a positive attitude.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education is highly advantageous.
