Graduate Town Planner

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £27,000/£30,000

Are you a recent Planning graduate looking to kick-start your career within an established planning team?

I'm currently recruiting for a Graduate Town Planner opportunity in Lincoln, offering the chance to work alongside experienced planners on a broad range of projects, while developing your professional and personal skills through a dedicated graduate training programme.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and prepare planning statements
  • Assist with the preparation of planning appraisals
  • Support the team on larger planning projects
  • Prepare planning applications and appeals
  • Assist clients throughout the planning process
  • Appraise new development opportunities
  • Undertake planning research and analysis
  • Assist with the preparation of Design and Access Statements where required
  • Manage a range of planning applications and monitor outcomes
  • Undertake community engagement
  • Attend planning committee meetings and public examinations
  • Attend site visits and client meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of fee proposals for projects

Requirements

  • Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline, ideally RTPI accredited
  • Demonstrated interest in planning
  • Previous planning experience is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong motivation and ambition to develop a career in planning
  • Transferable skills are welcomed, with consideration given to candidates who may not meet every listed requirement
