Cemetery Grave Digging Operative - 42 hours per week Mon-Fri + On-call rota for weekend standby works
- To be responsible for the safe preparation, digging and management of grave sites, through both manual and machine excavation in line with our client's requirements and instructions.
- To ensure all graves are excavated safely, following industry good practice with the use of appropriate shoring equipment, as per instructed date and time instructions.
- To ensure all graves are correctly reinstated following burials, and topped up as required/requested.
- To be required to be on standby and call-out on rota outside normal working hours (weekends and BH).
- To liaise with all clients, stakeholders and other cemetery representatives as part of the burial process
- To be responsible for planning and managing work time/loads around burial requirements.
- To operate a variety of plant and machinery as required, including mini-excavators, ride-on-mowers, compact tractors, sweepers etc.
- To drive company vehicles, tow trailers, and undertake all duties relevant to their proper and safe use.
Experience:
- Experience in the use of mini excavators within confined environments - preferable
- Experience in towing trailers up to 3.5T
- Experience and knowledge of undertaking a wide range of general Streetcare duties
- Experience and knowledge of operating a wide range of streetcare associated plant and machinery (A&I)
Qualifications
- Full driving licence (>3.5t)
- Accredited certification in the use of mini excavators up to 3T - preferable
