Grounds Maintenance Operative - £14.59 per Hour

Chipping Norton | Full-Time | Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a busy team in Chipping Norton. This is a full-time role offering £14.59 per hour with an immediate start available.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining parks, play areas, cemeteries, and other public spaces to a high standard. Duties will include:

  • Grass cutting and strimming
  • Hedge and shrub maintenance
  • General horticultural and grounds maintenance work
  • Litter picking and cleaning public areas
  • Maintaining parks, open spaces, and cemeteries
  • General grounds upkeep and seasonal maintenance tasks
  • Safe operation of chainsaws and other grounds maintenance equipment
  • Operating ride-on mowers, stand-on mowers, brush cutters, hedge cutters (preferably electric), and pedestrian/push mowers
  • Driving a flatbed truck and an electric Ford Transit van as required

Requirements

  • Physically fit and reliable
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • IT literate
  • Previous grounds maintenance or horticulture experience
  • A valid Wood Chipper licence
  • Emergency First Aid at Work certificate
  • Experience operating ride-on mowers, stand-on mowers, brush cutters, hedge cutters (preferably electric), and pedestrian/push mowers
  • Ability to drive a flatbed truck and an electric Ford Transit van
  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate - Essential
  • Full UK driving licence - Essential
