H&S Advisor in Greater Manchester

Health & Safety Advisor - Chemicals Manufacturing - Greater Manchester - £45-55k + benefits

We're working with an established chemicals manufacturer in teh search for a Health & Safety Advisor for their lower-tier COMAH environment.

Now under new ownership, the business is committed to increased investment and development, creating an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress into an HSE Manager role.

Working alongside an experienced HSE professional, you will gain broad exposure across HSE, process safety, environmental compliance and site operations, with the longer-term opportunity to help grow and develop the HSE team.

The Role

• Support the development and implementation of HSE management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

• Conduct risk assessments, including COSHH, and support DSEAR and process safety activities.

• Lead and support incident investigations, audits and compliance monitoring.

• Coordinate HSE training, contractor safety, site inductions and emergency drills.

• Support environmental compliance, fire safety and regulatory requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture across the site.

About You

• NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate or equivalent.

• Solid H&S experience within a high-hazard process industry environment.

• Practical experience managing significant hazards, including exposure to DSEAR, COSHH and risk assessments.

• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong communication skills and the confidence to engage across site operations.

COMAH experience is not essential, but experience within process industries is key.
