Hard Landscape Gardener in Southend-on-Sea, Essex

Hard Landscaper to work around the Southend area Monday to Friday so you must have your own vehicle.

We are looking for an experienced Hard Landscaper to carry out landscaping projects to a high standard. You will need strong practical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work from plans through to a finished installation.

Key responsibilities:

• Lay patios and paving using porcelain, natural stone, concrete slabs and block paving.
• Prepare ground, excavate areas and install suitable sub-bases.
• Set out work accurately, checking measurements, levels and drainage falls.
• Install pathways, driveways, edging and steps.
• Build garden walls and retaining features within your experience.
• Install fencing, gates, decking and other garden structures.
• Carry out drainage works associated with landscaping projects.
• Mix and use mortar, concrete and jointing products correctly.
• Read landscaping drawings and follow agreed specifications.
• Operate tools and equipment safely, using machinery where trained and authorised.
• Maintain a tidy site, protect customers’ property and minimise material waste.

Skills and experience required:

• Proven hands-on experience in hard landscaping.
• Strong paving and patio installation skills, including accurate cutting and finishing.
• Sound knowledge of ground preparation, levels, falls and drainage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A reliable, punctual approach and pride in your workmanship.
• Comfortable carrying out physical work outdoors.
• Experience laying porcelain paving.
