Head of Decarbonisation Works

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Head of Decarbonisation Works to lead a growing division delivering large-scale retrofit and low-carbon building upgrades across residential and public sector portfolios.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end performance, growth, and strategic direction of a multi-disciplinary delivery unit. You will oversee operational teams delivering external wall insulation (EWI), internal wall insulation (IWI), air source heat pump installations, and solar PV deployment, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient delivery at scale.

You will also play a key role in winning new work, shaping bids, and developing long-term client partnerships to expand the division’s pipeline and market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Delivery

• Lead and develop multi-disciplinary delivery teams across retrofit and renewable energy works
• Oversee programme delivery of EWI, IWI, heat pump installations, and solar PV projects
• Ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, quality assurance, and cost control
• Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes and supply chain performance
• Manage senior operational managers and support workforce planning and capability development

Commercial & Business Growth

• Lead on bid strategy, tender submissions, and framework opportunities
• Secure new contracts across social housing, local authority, and commercial sectors
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, funders, and strategic partners
• Identify new market opportunities within the decarbonisation and retrofit sector
• Contribute to pricing strategy and margin improvement across projects

Strategic Development

• Shape and execute the growth strategy for the decarbonisation division
• Expand service offering and geographic reach
• Build scalable systems and processes to support long-term growth
• Monitor market trends, policy changes, and funding streams (e.g., retrofit and net zero programmes)
