The Role

As Head of Health & Safety, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing and continually improving health and safety systems, policies and practices.

• Developing and delivering the Health & Safety strategy

• Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture at all levels

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards

• Reviewing and enhancing policies, procedures and management systems

• Supporting continual improvement initiatives and performance monitoring

• Leading investigations into incidents, near misses and key safety issues

• Providing expert guidance on risk management and safe systems of work

• Conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews across operational locations

• Working closely with stakeholders to identify and manage operational risks

• Coaching and supporting managers to strengthen health and safety performance

About You

We're looking for a confident and credible Health & Safety professional who can influence at all levels and drive positive change.

You'll ideally have:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification

• Chartered IOSH membership, or be working towards it

• Significant experience in a senior Health & Safety leadership role

• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice

• Experience implementing and improving Health & Safety management systems

• A collaborative approach with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels

• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
