Head of Health & Safety in Croydon, Greater London

HEAD OF HEALTH & SAFETY / HEAD OF HSE – LONDON
 

Up to £75,000 Per Annum + Performance Related Bonus + Car / Car Allowance + Free TfL Travel + Pension
 

We’re looking for an experienced and influential Head of Health & Safety / Head of HSE to lead the health and safety strategy across London operations.

This is a highly visible role requiring regular presence across London sites. While there may be flexibility to work remotely when appropriate, this is not a predominantly home-based position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Health & Safety strategy across London operations
• Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders and operational teams
• Drive a proactive, positive and accountable safety culture
• Monitor safety performance, identify trends and lead continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, regulatory requirements and company standards
• Oversee significant incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are implemented
• Provide constructive challenge and assurance to operational and engineering leaders
• Develop effective risk management, audit and assurance processes
• Maintain a strong and visible presence across operational locations
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and key external stakeholders

You'll Ideally Bring

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification
• Chartered IOSH membership, or demonstrable progress towards Chartered status
• Significant Health & Safety leadership experience within a large, complex operational organisation
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice
• Experience developing and implementing H&S strategy
• Strong investigation, risk management, audit and assurance experience
• The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• A practical, visible and hands-on approach to safety leadership
