Pall-Ex Logistics have an opportunity for a Head of Operations to join our Logistics Network based in Basildon, this is a newly created role, so you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact & difference to the team.

Role Specific Responsibilities

P&L experience is essential to understand & deliver budget requirements

Ensure Daily planning service and cost requirements are met

Ensure Depot service results are achieved daily in line with agreed targets

In house audits and compliance checks are completed by departments/managers on time and in line with agreed targets/objectives

Effective management reporting

Support customer development and retention in line with agreed targets

Transport management responsibilities on O Licence, ensure OCRS rating is maintained, and Operator licence is managed effectively

Training matrix and action plans are developed and achieved in line with set targets (transport, warehousing and H&S)

Management of all Warehouse and Transport operations

Support BDM in new business and successful integration of these customers in line with agreed SLA’s

Recruitment in all areas is met in line with budgetary requirements with a focus on removal of agency associated costs

Achieve KPI’s through management team by coaching, mentoring and developing managers to achieve and exceed.

Ensuring all HR policies and procedures are adhered to

Management control of QHSE adhering to company policies and procedures

What we'd like from you

Transport/Logistics management experience of 5 years or more

Transport Manager CPC (preferable)

3PL Experience (Preferable)

General Haulage experience (preferred)

Network experience (preferred)

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Proven track record in driving operational improvements and achieving cost savings

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically

Ability to work well independently and part of a team

Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office including Excel to an intermediate level
