A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Projects to join a leading engineering and automation business, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects.
The Role
You will provide senior leadership across the full project lifecycle, from design and pre-construction through to installation, commissioning and handover.
You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, oversee project budgets and commercial performance, and manage key client, contractor and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of major projects from design through to completion
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary project teams
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost control and commercial performance
- Manage project risks, contracts and variations
- Oversee engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning activities
- Manage senior client, contractor and stakeholder relationships
- Drive recovery plans where projects are at risk
- Oversee contractor and supply chain performance
- Maintain high standards of health and safety and project governance
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery
About You
- Proven senior project leadership experience within engineering, construction, industrial, infrastructure or a similar environment
- Strong end-to-end project delivery experience
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex supply chains
- Strong commercial, financial and risk management skills
- Experience managing senior clients and stakeholders
- Proven experience delivering complex projects successfully
- Experience within technically complex or live operational environments would be advantageous
- Relevant engineering, construction or project management qualification
MCIOB, CEng, APM or equivalent would be advantageous.
Regular travel to client sites across the UK will be required, with some European travel depending on project requirements.
