Head of Supply Chain 

Location: Hull
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced supply chain professional to join a growing manufacturing business as Head of Supply Chain. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain function, leading procurement, logistics, warehousing and inventory management activities to ensure operational excellence, cost efficiency and exceptional customer service.

This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategy, strengthening supplier relationships, improving logistics performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing and supply of raw materials, packaging and consumables, ensuring cost-effective procurement and continuity of supply.
• Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, pricing agreements and service level expectations.
• Drive supply chain planning activities, ensuring inventory levels, forecasting accuracy and working capital objectives are achieved.
• Take responsibility for inbound and outbound logistics operations, managing third-party logistics providers and transport partners.
• Oversee warehouse operations, stock control and inventory management, ensuring efficient processes and stock accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, traceability, import/export and regulatory requirements.
• Develop supply chain KPIs, performance reporting and management dashboards to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead cost reduction, process improvement and operational excellence projects across the supply chain function.
• Manage and develop the wider logistics and supply chain team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with production, sales, quality, finance and operations teams to support business objectives and customer requirements.

About You

• Proven experience in a senior Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement or Operations leadership role.
• Strong background within FMCG environment.
• Extensive experience of supplier management, contract negotiation and strategic sourcing.
• Strong understanding of warehousing, transportation and end-to-end supply chain operations.
• Experience managing third-party logistics providers and transportation networks.
• Excellent analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
• Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting and ERP systems.
