Health and Safety (SHEQ) Coordinator - Wigan - major construction project - £30k-£35k+benefits - flexible hours available based on a 37.5 hour week.

Role Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Head of SHEQ, the SHEQ Coordinator will provide coordination, administration and analytical support across key Safety, Health, Environment and Quality activities.

The role will work closely with operational and project teams to support effective SHEQ management, understand day-to-day challenges and help identify opportunities to improve performance. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive SHEQ culture, support collaborative working with clients and supply chain partners, and provide accurate data, reporting and management system support.

Key Responsibilities
SHEQ Coordination & Support
Support the implementation of the organisations SHEQ strategy, processes and initiatives.
Coordinate and administer key SHEQ activities across regional projects and operational teams.
Develop a strong understanding of SHEQ risk management requirements and support the delivery of high standards of performance.
Work closely with project and operational teams to understand day-to-day challenges and provide effective SHEQ support.
Contribute to the identification and implementation of sustainable and innovative SHEQ solutions.
Support the integration of SHEQ requirements throughout the project management and delivery lifecycle.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Build effective working relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders.
Support collaborative approaches to SHEQ management and continuous improvement.
Communicate SHEQ information clearly and professionally at all levels of the organisation.
Work collaboratively with project teams to identify issues, opportunities and practical improvements.

Performance, Data & Reporting
Collect, analyse and maintain SHEQ performance data, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
Monitor performance trends and identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities.
Prepare regular SHEQ reports, dashboards and performance information for management review.
Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Highlight areas requiring further investigation, corrective action or improvement.
Management Systems & Assurance
Support the maintenance and continual improvement of externally certified SHEQ management systems.
Assist with internal and external audits, inspections and assurance activities.
Maintain accurate SHEQ records, documentation and reporting systems.
Support the implementation and monitoring of corrective and improvement actions.
Ensure SHEQ information is maintained in accordance with organisational requirements and relevant standards.

Technical Competencies
Data analysis, reporting and trend identification.
Understanding of SHEQ management systems and reporting processes.
Good knowledge of SHEQ principles and their application within project or operational environments.
Strong administrative, organisational and coordination skills.
Ability to produce clear, accurate and professional reports and presentations.
Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data while maintaining accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to identify trends and patterns within data and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
Knowledge of standard SHEQ reporting practices and processes.
Understanding of management systems and continuous improvement principles.
Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also using initiative and working independently.
Strong communication skills with confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive approach to identifying issues, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Confidence to make appropriate decisions while recognising when issues or concerns should be escalated.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
Flexible approach to working across different project locations and environments, with the ability to adapt to changing business and operational requirements.

Desirable Criteria
Relevant SHEQ qualification or experience within a SHEQ, quality, environmental or health and safety environment.
Experience working within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities or a similar project-based environment.
Experience supporting ISO-certified management systems.
Experience with data analysis, performance dashboards or business intelligence tools.
Understanding of relevant SHEQ legislation, standards and industry best practice
