Aztec Landscapes is seeking an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Manager to work alongside our existing H&S Manager, supporting the continued development and implementation of our health, safety, environmental and wellbeing standards across our operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who is particularly strong in documentation, compliance management, reporting, and presentation, allowing operational site support to remain a key focus for the existing H&S function.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring Aztec Landscapes maintains the highest standards of health and safety across our landscaping, groundwork and civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities -
Prepare, review and maintain Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Produce and manage Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
Conduct site health & safety inspections and audits.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and track corrective actions.
Support project teams in complying with company and statutory H&S requirements.
Present and lead High Risk Activity Reviews.
Assist with the development and implementation of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
Monitor compliance with current HSE legislation and best practice.
Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe acts where required.
Support management teams with risk management and safety planning.
Deliver guidance, coaching and support to site teams and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate H&S records, documentation and reporting systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement across the business' safety culture.
Candidate Requirements - Essential -
Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety management experience within the construction industries.
Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and best practice.
Proven experience writing and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Construction Phase Plans.
Experience conducting site inspections, audits and producing professional reports.
Excellent written, administrative and presentation skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management ability.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Candidate Requirements - Preferred -
Previous experience in a Principal Contractor (PC) environment.
Experience within groundworks, landscaping and/or civil engineering environments.
Experience presenting High Risk Reviews to management and project teams.
Appointed Person (AP) qualification for lifting operations and lift plan preparation.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
