Health and Safety Manager in Harrow

Principal People are delighted to be recruiting a Health and Safety Manager to join a well-established charitable organisation based in North West London.

This company provides healthcare services and support to people across the local community with a large network of employees and volunteers working across a diverse property portfolio, including a main operational site, warehouse, and retail locations.

This is a newly created, standalone position and an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to take real ownership of the function, becoming the organisation’s internal point of expertise and helping shape how Health & Safety is managed moving forward.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Providing practical Health and Safety advice and guidance to staff.
• Developing and reviewing Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Supporting and completing risk assessments, audits, and inspections - identifying areas for improvement.
• Supporting incident investigations and advising on RIDDOR reporting where required.
• Delivering Health and Safety training for employees and volunteers.
• Supporting contractor Health and Safety arrangements.
• Supporting and chairing Health and Safety meetings and producing safety reports for senior management.
• Supporting fire safety arrangements, including training, drills, and evacuation procedures.
• Promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Apply for this role if you have:

• A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Established experience working within Health and Safety.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The confidence to challenge stakeholders constructively and influence positive change.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of Health and Safety matters.
