Health & Safety Advisor in Redbridge, Greater London

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing and successful Construction Business. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic team supporting a wide range of construction, infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Working closely with operational teams, project managers, and clients, you will play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and helping deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide proactive health and safety support across multiple construction projects and operational sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to site personnel and management teams.
• Support project teams in identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, and other applicable regulations.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with company health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of a positive safety culture throughout the business.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on health and safety matters when required.
• Support the business in achieving and maintaining accreditations such as ISO 45001, CHAS, Constructionline, and SafeContractor.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, Health & Safety Coordinator, or similar role within the construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits, accident investigations, and compliance monitoring.
• Ability to prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and health and safety documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organisation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate essential.
• Membership of IOSH (Working Towards, Technical, or Certified Member level) desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
• Experience working within residential, commercial, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects would be advantageous.
