A rapidly growing food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to enhance existing systems, influence workplace culture, and take ownership of health and safety on site.

As production expands, it is essential that safety and compliance measures develop accordingly.

You will establish robust systems, work towards accreditation, and maintain all necessary approvals.

From day one, you will receive full support from the team and be accountable to shift managers, engineering, and site leadership for delivering results.

This is a hands-on role, where you will be:

• Developing SOPs and Safe Systems of Work across production, hygiene, and maintenance
• Conducting risk assessments
• Managing near-miss reporting and ensuring corrective actions are completed
• Chairing site health and safety meetings with clear agendas and accountability
• Driving the implementation of recommendations from external health and safety partners
• Delivering training sessions personally
• Maintaining the training and compliance matrix
• Running inductions for all new starters, temporary staff, and contractors

You will have a realistic timeframe to settle into the role with strong support around you. Once the manufacturing health and safety function is secure, there will be opportunities to influence wider business practises beyond the factory floor.

What you’ll need:

• NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong project management skills: you complete tasks and influence colleagues who do not directly report to you
• Solid technical knowledge of COSHH, machinery safety, and manual handling
• A genuine willingness to be present on the floor, not just office-based
