This is a senior, hands-on role reporting directly to the Managing Director. You won't be buried in layers of management. You'll have real ownership and the authority to drive change across the business.

A company with a strong, close-knit reputation want a Health & Safety Manager who can take the reigns of this exciting opportunity.

The role

• Act as the company's lead competent person for Health & Safety
• Develop, implement and monitor procedures and safe systems of work
• Prepare and review RAMS for all works
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks
• Oversee subcontractor vetting, inductions and on-site compliance
• Lead incident investigations and drive a proactive near-miss reporting culture
• Report to the MD on safety performance, trends and key risks
• Chair the H&S committee, deliver in-house training and manage accreditation renewals
• Line manage and develop a Health & Safety Officer

What you'll bring

• 5+ years' Health & Safety experience at management level
• NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
• Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation
• Experience managing main contractors and subcontractors
• The confidence to challenge and influence at every level, from site teams to senior leadership
• A full UK driving licence
• Tech IOSH and First Aid at Work would be advantageous.
