HGV 2 Driver / Workshop Assistant – Padworth, Reading
£17.72 per hour | Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 7:30 pm

Are you an experienced HGV 2 driver looking for a varied role that combines driving and workshop duties? Join a dynamic team based near Reading, where you’ll split your time 50/50 driving vans, 7.5t, and HGV 2 vehicles to and from workshops and MOT centres, and assisting with minor repairs and maintenance tasks. This role offers a fantastic blend of hands-on workshop activities alongside professional driving responsibilities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Driving vans, 7.5t, and HGV 2 vehicles safely to and from workshops and MOT centres
  • Assisting with minor damage repairs and routine vehicle maintenance
  • Supporting workshop staff with day-to-day tasks to keep operations running smoothly
  • Loading and unloading vehicles as required
  • Maintaining accurate records of vehicle movements and maintenance activities
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards during all activities

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid HGV 2 driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Experience driving vans and 7.5t or HGV 2 vehicles
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or a willingness to learn workshop tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
