HGV CLASS 1 DRIVERS – SCUNTHORPE

Temp-to-Perm | £200 per Day PAYE + £25 Night-Out Allowance | Immediate Starts

365 People are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for an established transport operation based in Scunthorpe.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for consistent work with a genuine route into permanent employment after 12 weeks.

THE ROLE

You will be completing a mixture of general haulage and trunking work, operating modern vehicles and primarily curtain-side trailers.

Routes can cover locations across the UK, including the Midlands, North West, London, Scotland and Wales.

The majority of work is palletised with no regular handball. Some light manual handling may occasionally be required.

DAY DRIVERS / TRAMPERS

• Start times typically between 05:00–08:00
• Monday to Friday
• £200 per day PAYE
• £25 night-out allowance

NIGHT DRIVERS

• Start times typically around 16:00
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend work and alternative shift patterns may be available

Drivers can expect working days of approximately 10–12 hours, depending on the route and contract.

PAY & PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY

• £200 per day PAYE
• £25 night-out allowance
• £225 for a shift including a night out
• Temp-to-perm opportunity after 12 weeks
• Permanent salary of £44,000 for Day Drivers
• Permanent salary of £46,000 for Night Drivers

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Minimum 6 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Minimum age of 25 due to insurance requirements
• Maximum 6 points – minor offences such as SP30s may be considered
• Good understanding of load security
• Strapping experience is preferred
• Reliable and professional approach to work
• Comfortable with longer working days

WHAT TO EXPECT

Successful drivers will complete a full induction process, including:

• Driving assessment
• Manual handling assessment
• Site familiarisation
• Buddy shifts before working independently
