HGV Class 2 Driver in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Salary: £34,840 per annum (£16.75 per hour)
Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join an established waste management business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of waste, primarily operating skip vehicles.

• Safely delivering and collecting skips and waste.
• Transporting and disposing of waste correctly at the company site.
• Using a PDA to complete jobs and update records.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or issues immediately.
• Handling customer queries and completing relevant paperwork.
• Following company procedures, health and safety requirements and site rules.
• Operating other vehicles when required to cover holidays, sickness and operational demands.

• Minimum 1 year's driving experience, preferably with skip vehicles.
• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good local geographical knowledge.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• No serious endorsements on driving licence.
• Willingness to drive other vehicles when trained and competent.

Training can be provided to the right candidate. Drivers under 25 may be considered subject to insurance approval.

• Permanent, full-time position.
• Monday to Friday, 7am–5pm.
• Saturday mornings, 7am–12pm, on a rota.
• £16.75 per hour (£34,840 per annum).
