HGV Driver Class 2 Refuse Collection in Swaffham, Norfolk

Location: Brecklands, Watton, IP25
Pay: £15.52 per hour
Duration: Temporary ongoing - 40 hours a week for 12 weeks and then possibility to go permanent
Hours: 05:45am - 14:15pm (hours may differ due to being on task and finish)
Potential: Permanent position available for the right candidate

We are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy refuse and recycling collection team in Watton.

You will be responsible for carrying out daily food waste, refuse and recycling collections, working as part of a team to complete routes safely and efficiently.

The role operates on a Task & Finish basis, meaning finish times may vary depending on how quickly the daily route is completed.

• Carry out daily refuse, recycling and food waste collections
• Operate collection vehicles and associated machinery safely
• Assist refuse loaders while out on your rounds
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as required
• Complete relevant paperwork and records in real time
• Carry out daily vehicle and machinery checks
• Report any defects or issues
• Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and machinery
• Follow safe lifting and handling procedures
• Maintain excellent customer service when dealing with members of the public and other road users
• Work effectively as part of a team to complete routes within the required service levels

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence
• No more than 6 penalty points
• Valid Driver CPC
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Willing to undertake a variety of tasks
• Willingness to assist refuse loaders as part of the collection team
• Previous refuse/recycling experience is desirable but not essential
