The Role
Metal Talent Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly successful manufacturer of vehicle transporters, roadside rescue vehicles and heavy recovery equipment, based in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
Due to continued growth within the Service Department, they are looking to recruit a skilled HGV & PCV Mechanic / Technician to join their experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial vehicle technician looking to join a growing business where quality workmanship and customer service are highly valued.
Working Hours & Overtime
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Saturdays when required paid at time and a half
- Overtime available, paid at time and a half
Key Responsibilities
As an HGV / PCV Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of commercial vehicles and trailers.
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and technical faults.
- Working to VOSA standards and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Liaising with the Parts Department to obtain the required parts.
- Ensuring vehicles are handled safely and carefully whilst on company premises.
- Completing job cards, service sheets and relevant documentation accurately and on time.
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Keeping your technical and product knowledge up to date.
- Attending relevant training courses when required.
- Providing a high standard of customer service and professional customer interaction.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop.
- Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, PCVs or commercial vehicles.
- A recognised technical qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- An HGV and/or PSV licence would be desirable but is not essential.
