The Role of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
As a Workshop Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping the fleet safe and compliant. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections to DVSA standards.
- Diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Preparing vehicles for annual MOT testing.
- Completing comprehensive electronic service records and paperwork accurately.
What we’re looking for from the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working on heavy vehicles (Buses, Coaches, or HGVs).
- An IRTEC qualification is highly desirable, though not strictly essential if you have strong relevant experience.
- License: A full UK driving license is required (a PCV or HGV class 1 or 2 license is a distinct advantage).
- A safety-first approach and a commitment to maintaining high workmanship standards.
