We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable, family-owned business located in Horsham for the position of HGV Technician. This is a vital role within their busy workshop, providing an opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality service in the commercial vehicle sector.

Duties of the HGV Technician:
  • Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles to ensure safety and operational efficiency
  • Utilise diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in HGVs
  • Perform repairs and overhauls, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems
  • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs on damaged vehicle parts and bodies
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend vehicle lifespan
  • Maintain accurate records of all work, parts used, and scheduled maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition and repair progress
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure workshop operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Keep updated on the latest industry advancements and best practices in HGV maintenance
Requirements of the HGV Technician:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in HGV or PSV maintenance and repair
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills as a HGV Technician
  • Tidy, professional approach with excellent attention to detail
  • HGV driving licence is desirable but not essential
