An opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a Local Authority on a temp-to-perm basis in Rotherham. Working a 37-hour week with sociable daytime hours, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, diagnostics, repairs and MOT preparation to ensure vehicle availability and compliance.


Key Responsibilities
 
  • Provide a high standard of fault diagnosis
  • Carry out periodic safety inspections to DVSA inspection manual standards
  • Complete PDI inspections
  • Conduct decommissioning inspections and repairs
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT
  • Present vehicles for annual MOT inspections
  • Carry out repairs to minimise vehicle downtime


Requirements
 
  • City & Guilds, IMI Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Category C licence or willingness to obtain this within the first year of employment
  • Previous experience carrying out diagnostics, inspections and repairs
  • Understanding of DVSA inspection standards


Salary & Benefits
 
  • £23.86 Ltd per hour (£20.47 PAYE equivalent)
  • Temp to Perm opportunity
  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00
  • Friday: 10:30 – 18:00
  • Holiday allowance
  • Sociable working hours
  • Overtime available
