We are currently partnering with a reputable multi-franchise commercial vehicle dealer group based in Swindon to recruit an experienced HGV Trailer Technician. The suitable individual will be a dedicated HGV Trailer Technician, capable of delivering high standards of service and repair for a diverse fleet of trailers and car transporter bodies.

Duties of the HGV Trailer Technician:
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and maintenance on trailers, including car transporter bodies
  • Fault diagnosis and defect repairs on trailers and car transporters
  • Repair of ramps, decks, winches, and hydraulics
  • Conduct road tests on trailers to ensure roadworthiness
  • Prepare trailers for annual MOT testing and presentation
  • Maintain and repair brake systems and running gear
  • Complete all relevant documentation accurately and promptly
  • Liaise effectively with the workshop team to ensure high-quality service delivery
Requirements of the HGV Trailer Technician:
  • Qualified to City & Guilds IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Several years’ post-qualification experience preferred
  • For individuals qualified as Car/LCV Technicians, our client is willing to provide specialist HGV training
  • Demonstrated commitment, teamwork, and ability to produce quality work in a busy environment
  • Motivated to meet targets and continually develop skills
  • HGV driving licence is advantageous but not essential
