Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant ready to take on greater classroom responsibility?

Teach Now is working with an inclusive primary school in Harrow that requires a skilled HLTA for a full-time temporary position beginning in September. The successful candidate will work across KS1 and KS2, supporting quality-first teaching, delivering interventions and providing reliable class cover.

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone who enjoys variety and can move confidently between whole-class teaching, small-group work and individual SEN support.

• Providing planned class cover across the primary age range
  
• Delivering focused literacy, phonics and numeracy interventions
  
• Supporting pupils who require additional help to remain engaged
  
• Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
  
• Helping teachers assess progress and identify next steps
  
• Establishing calm, consistent expectations for behaviour
  
• Supporting the inclusion of pupils with SEN
  

• HLTA status, a Level 3 qualification or equivalent school-based experience
  
• At least six months of recent primary classroom experience
  
• Experience leading lessons, groups or interventions
  
• Knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
  
• A patient, professional and flexible approach
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
  
• The right to work in the UK
