Salary:  £24,137.59 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

As an HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and support to students, complementing teachers’ work and promoting independence, progress, and wellbeing across the school. You’ll bring creativity, structure, and compassion to everything you do — ensuring every student feels valued, respected, and supported in their learning journey.

Your work will focus on:

  • Providing learning support to individuals, groups, or whole classes under teacher guidance.
  • Preparing and delivering lessons, interventions, and enrichment activities.
  • Helping students develop academically, emotionally, and socially in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning, resource preparation, and classroom management.
  • Supporting behaviour management in line with school policy and promoting positive conduct.
  • Monitoring progress and providing detailed feedback on student participation, learning, and wellbeing.

You’ll also play a key role in supporting the holistic development of students — contributing to behaviour and pastoral plans, emotional regulation strategies, and wider interventions to promote inclusion and resilience.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Supporting the implementation of individual education and behaviour programmes.
  • Promoting students’ self-esteem, confidence, and independence.
  • Attending and contributing to EHCP reviews and team meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate student records and reports (including Sleuth entries).
  • Assisting with Thrive sessions, PDS activities, and interventions linked to EHCP outcomes.
  • Administering medication when required (training provided).
  • Leading small group sessions, covering lessons, and supporting transitions when necessary.
  • Upholding safeguarding, equality, and inclusion principles in all aspects of school life.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a caring, motivated, and resilient professional who believes in the potential of every child. You’ll bring:

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in SEN or similar settings.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, compassionate, and solution-focused under pressure.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers and achieve success.

At Bramfield House School, we believe every young person deserves dignity, respect, and opportunity. We’re proud to provide a caring, inclusive environment free from prejudice or discrimination — where each student’s individual needs are understood and met with patience, creativity, and compassion.
