TeacherActive is proud to be working with an independent Special School in the WV4 area that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for pupils aged 5 to 16 with mixed additional needs. The school is committed to delivering a personalised education through a nurturing approach, enabling every pupil to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The school is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will support teaching and learning across the school, lead lessons when required, work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning activities, assess pupil progress and provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• HLTA qualification or relevant experience in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role
• Experience supporting children and young people with mixed additional needs within a specialist or SEND setting
• Confidence leading whole-class learning and managing classrooms in the teacher's absence
• Experience planning, delivering and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• A positive, adaptable and proactive approach
