A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Redbridge is seeking a skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its team. This role combines whole‑class cover with the leadership and delivery of targeted intervention programmes, supporting pupils to achieve their very best.

The Role

You will play a key part in ensuring continuity of learning across the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading whole‑class learning during teacher absence, maintaining high expectations for behaviour and progress
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating high‑quality intervention programmes
  • Working closely with teachers and leaders to identify gaps in learning and respond effectively
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND, to overcome barriers to learning
  • Monitoring and tracking pupil progress within intervention groups
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified HLTA or holds an equivalent Level 4+ qualification
  • Experienced within a primary school setting
  • Confident in leading whole‑class teaching and managing behaviour effectively
  • Skilled in delivering impactful interventions that accelerate progress
  • Knowledgeable about supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND
  • An excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Flexible, proactive and reflective in their practice
